End of service for Technis mats
Technis smart mats and kiosks will reach end-of-service on August 31, 2026.
After 10 years of service, we are retiring our legacy hardware and related software solutions. This page answers the most common questions and explains the available transition options.
What’s changing?
We’re phasing out Technis smart mats, Technis kiosks / Stop&Go totems, as well as support and updates for the related legacy platforms and features such as the Stop&Go slideshow.
You will be able to continue using the current setup until August 31, 2026. After that date, these products will no longer be supported.
Why are Technis mats and kiosks being retired?
Our original smart counting mats have been in service for 10 years. As part of the evolution of our product offering, we are focusing on newer hardware solutions that provide better performance, more reliable long-term support, and access to richer data.
FAQ
Am I impacted by this change?
To identify if you’re using a Technis smart mat or Stop&Go kiosk:
- Mats: look for Technis logo on the mat or an attached black box
- Kiosk: if there is a display plugged in via HDMI into a Technis smart counting mat
Note that a kiosk may vary in color and wheels. If your mat has Intechfloor logo, you are not impacted by this change.
Can I continue using smart mats and kiosks after August 31, 2026?
The mats and the kiosks will stop working after August 31, 2026. We recommend transitioning to the new Intechfloor mats or stereoscopic cameras before this date.
What are my upgrade options for mats?
The best option depends on your needs:
Option 1: Upgrade to Intechfloor smart counting mat
For a simple migration path, Intechfloor smart mats are the right choice. They offer improved accuracy over our legacy mats with a plug&play installation experience.
Option 2: Switch to an AI counting camera
AI people counting and analytics cameras can provide additional metrics such as gender and age segmentation or make distinctions between individual and group entries, as well as map the whole journey
What’s the difference between discontinued mats and Intechfloor mats?
Intechfloor mats come with improved accuracy, 4G connectivity and a more robust hardware design.
What are my upgrade options for Stop&Go kiosk/display?
Technis Stop&Go kiosks are being discontinued and we are no longer able to offer replacement hardware or software service.
