Quick start guide
This comprehensive guide will help you get started with Technis.
What is Technis?
Technis helps you understand how your physical spaces are used by combining footfall traffic, occupancy and environmental data. Thanks to the combined data from intelligent sensors, you can improve your operations, security and customer experience.
We recommend you take the following steps as a priority, as these will make sure you and your team get the most out of Technis.
We’ve broken it up into sections:
- Explore your account
- Understand site reports
- Configure alerts and PDF exports
- Create a custom report (admins only)
- Invite your team (admins only)
Step 1: Explore your account
To get started, visit https://app.technis.com and connect with your email and the password you have set.
Once connected, you'll see a quick overview of your sites and their key metrics. Sites represent physical locations, such as your shops, offices, museums, or events.

The page also draws your attention to any device disconnections that will impact the quality of data. Devices (or sensors), are the intelligent hardware such as mats, cameras or air sensors installed on your sites that measure usage data.
Step 2: Understand site reports
Clicking on any of the sites from the home page leads to a detailed site report that displays its key metrics as collected from your sensors:

Default report shows you in near real-time:
- Number of visitors currently on the site
- Total number of entrances today
- Average visit duration
Using charts on the page you can get answers to what are the peak times to better plan staffing, or how are different areas of your space used to improve product placement.
Controls at the top of the page let you quickly switch between daily, weekly or monthly views to compare trends.
Step 3: Create alerts and scheduled exports

Alerts
Alerts provide real-time visibility into issues with different areas of your space. Customizable alert rules let you get notified on any metric change, such as number of visitors inside a space or devices going offline.
Exports
While reports are great for exploration of data, scheduled exports let you receive pre-configured reports on a daily or a weekly basis directly to your or your team's inbox as a PDF or XLSX file with all key metrics.
Step 4: Customize a report
This step is for admins and managers only.
Customize the site overview report, or create your own reports to take analysis further.
If the pre-built report does not match your needs, you can customize it or create a new report that responds to recurrent questions. In a custom report, you can customize the layout and different types of charts, even from multiple sites.
Step 5: Invite your team
This step is for admins and managers only.
You're now ready to share the access Technis with your team: the more people have access to the data, they can make better decisions backed by data.
When inviting users, you can choose the appropriate level of access for each person, from read-only access to sites (members) to co-admins that have the same permissions as you.
